Here are some sketches I did that haven't seen daylight in some time. It's always interesting to go back and review.

Double Post- Bead work

So after many years of collecting beads here and there, I've put this necklace together. I'm pretty happy with it.

And the last image is the pendulum that I put together, which handily attaches into a pendant-necklace to carry it around with me.

watercolor pencils

I've started using watercolor pencils and will be using some gouache paint as well. I've done a few sketches in the last month, but mostly I've been taking it easy. I'll likely be more productive in the future. And I don't clean these images up too much either, they're more just to give an example of what I can do.

This was a vegetation layering drawing for a project for work. I'll be doing more and better looking ones for the final, but I'll put up some of my practice ones.

As I start in on the shading something about the lips is bothering me, like they're too far to her left. I'll probably finish tonight.

Proportions are very important for faces. Our eyes and minds immediately recognize if there is something amiss.

Heavy shadow

I actually did a little touch up this morning. [edit: and I think I killed it.] The portrayal is a little more fully figured than I had intended and the perspective angle is a bit off. This may be worth revisiting in the future. Overall I'm not satisfied, but this is a learning project. We move on.

Ran out of time before I got to really work on the hair and some of the shading by the arm isn't fleshed out. I photograph these in the early morning, and I like to see the difference in my perceptions from night to day.

It's tough with long days at work to take the time to draw. I still enjoy it though. Hair, definitely need to practice technique on hair. Also faces and hands. Maybe tonight.
